Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

Swipe East is a subsidiary of High Tech Redneck 85 LLC, which owns and operates Swipe East. You must be at least 18 years old to use Swipe East. By using the service you confirm that you are 18 or older, that the information you provide is accurate, and that you will maintain only one account.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

During the private beta, a phone number is not required to register. If you add a number and tap Send Code, we text a one-time passcode when SMS is enabled. A photo upload may be checked for a face on the still; that is not identity verification.

3. Community Rules

You agree not to:

• Impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity or age.
• Harass, threaten, abuse, or stalk other members.
• Post unlawful, obscene, hateful, or sexually explicit content.
• Use Swipe East for solicitation, advertising, spam, or any commercial purpose.
• Attempt to access other members' accounts or our systems.
• Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools on the service.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, without refund.

4. SMS Text Messaging Program

Swipe East, a subsidiary of and operated by High Tech Redneck 85 LLC, sends automated text messages for a one-time passcode after you tap Send Code, when SMS is enabled. We do not send marketing or promotional texts. We do not text a code on every sign-in.

How to Opt In (Call to Action)

After creating a Swipe East account, you may see a "Verify your phone number" screen during onboarding at swipeeast.com. On that screen you enter your mobile phone number and tap "Send Code." Directly beneath the phone number field, that screen discloses: "By entering your number and tapping 'Send Code,' you agree to receive an automated one-time passcode text message from Swipe East (operated by High Tech Redneck 85 LLC, d/b/a Swipe East) for account verification and security purposes. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase." Tapping "Send Code" after reading this disclosure is your affirmative opt-in consent. During this private beta, this step is not required to complete registration.

Consent

By providing and verifying your mobile number, you consent to receive these automated security messages. Consent is not a condition of purchase.

Message Frequency and Cost

Message frequency varies — typically only when you tap Send Code. We do not text on sign-in or password reset. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

How to Opt Out of Texts

You can also remove or change your phone number from Settings → Account in the app. To resume messages after opting out, reply START or re-verify your number in Settings.

Opting out means we cannot send a one-time passcode to that number. It does not change the account-access methods presented in the app. We may still use a verified email for security notices and approved recovery flows.

5. Plus Subscription

Swipe East is free to swipe, match, and view matches. Optional Plus is $10.00 per month or $100.00 per year, billed automatically until cancelled. During the private beta, Plus is included and we do not take payment. Gold (see who liked you, discovery filters) is not for sale yet. In-app calling is not available and is not included with Plus. Payments are processed by our payment processor; we never store your full card details.

6. Cancelling Your Subscription

Your cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You keep Plus features until that date, and you will not be charged again. We do not provide partial refunds for unused time in a billing period unless required by law.

Cancelling Plus does not delete your account — your free account remains active.

7. Deleting Your Account

Deleting your account removes your profile, photos, matches, messages, and phone number from our active systems, and stops all text messages. If you have an active Plus subscription, cancel it first so you are not billed again.

If you cannot access your account, email support@swipeeast.com from your registered email address and we will process the deletion for you.

Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. We may retain limited records where required by law or to prevent fraud and abuse.

8. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your mobile number. In short: we never sell, rent, or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

9. Safety Disclaimer

Swipe East does not conduct criminal background checks on members. We do not verify identity from photos or government ID. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other members. Always meet in public places, tell someone where you are going, and use your own judgment.

10. Limitation of Liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Swipe East is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service or your interactions with other members.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of Swipe East after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
